Cherry- A medium weight wood with close, fine grain. Occasionally found with thin, dark gum streaks or small clusters of very small pin knots. Looks great with a natural or stained finish.

Alder- A softer wood with more open grain. Can be very knotty. Can finish to look like cherry, but without as much expense. Can be stained or left with a natural finish.

Hickory- A very hard wood know for its color variations and knots. Can be stained or left natural.

Maple- A hard wood with some color variations. Can be pickled, left natural, or painted. Because of the hardness of maple, it does not stain well. It becomes blotchy when stained.

Knotty Pine- A soft wood know for its light color and knots. Looks great left natural, or with a light stain.

Poplar- A medium weight wood that is primarily used for painted projects.

Oak- A hard wood with very pronounced grain. Most commonly left natural or stained.

Western red maple- A hard wood used primarily for painted and scuffed projects. The warm color of the wood looks great showing through the paint.

Thermafoil A MDF(medium density fiberboard)- door routed into a design and then a high pressure laminate is shrink wrapped to the surfaces. A very durable and easy to clean option.
